From Versus.com:
Stick a microphone in front of them and this pattern continues. When introduced at a recent community function, the ever-exuberant Ovechkin announced himself by saying, “Heeeeeeeeeey, I score goals!” In contrast, Crosby has been known to break down his thought process for reporters, such as the time he explained how he once scored a on-one-knee sliding tap-in goal because he recognized that his teammate’s pass was going long and he’d have better reach if he simply kneeled down and lunged his stick out.
Who is this mystery writer and why is he so smart and good-looking?

Sid would probably say, “Hey, I pass puck” in a very measured, boring, and monotone voice.
Even the AO doesn’t have the best grasp of English, you always know he’s having fun.

1) If the NHL were smart, they would market Ovechkin as much as they are doing with Sid. His personality/love for the game is infectious. He might not have full grasp of English, but its vastly better than 3 years ago.

Ovechkin speaks great English actually, but anyway, I agree that they should begin marketing other players as much as Sid. They are both just such different people, Ovechkin just always looks like he’s having fun out there, where Sid always has the determined pissed off look, unless they win, then he gets a huge smile on his face. They are both fun to watch, and the NHL is missing out on a lot of easy advertising.

1) Have a Russian media person stick a microphone in front of Crosby’s face and ask a query in Russian, and lets see how many Cyrillic words he can give with his ” thought process for reporters”? ; )
