About Eye on the Media

Eye on the Media, debuted on Kukla’s Korner in February of 2008, and deals with all the evil, weird and just plain insane things that happen when hockey ventures into the foreign worlds of TV, Radio and News Print. I am a student, and a communications major, in New Jersey, which by association means you can blame me for destroying hockey. I love hockey and wants to hear everything you have to say about the way our game is covered.

NEW YORK - The contingency plan for Saturday’s 1:30 p.m. ET DAL@DET NBC broadcast is as follows:

If the game goes into overtime, the local Dallas and Detroit NBC affiliates will stay with the game until it’s conclusion

In markets outside Dallas and Detroit, the game will shift from NBC to VERSUS after completion of the 1st OT

There are some markets that may pre-empt the game but at this time we don’t know the alternative channel plans.

OMG Here we go again.  This would not be the first time that NBC abandoned an ongoing OT Stanley Cup game.  Gary.Ass

At least this year they have had the foresight to announce the plan ahead of time.  Last year was a disaster.  Big question is....if the switch to VS is necessary, will it be in HD?
