Don’t bother wondering whether the egg roll Bill Clement is munching on while he’s broadcasting Olympic ping-pong and shooting is the genuine Beijing thing.
It isn’t.
The only Chinese chow Clement will get to sample is going to come from some take-out joint on 49th Street in Manhattan. Clement will be doing all his work “remote” from NBC’s studios at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in downtown New York.
That’s because the International Olympic Committee requested that the television network limit the number of broadcasters attending live to help ease congestion at the Games.
