About Eye on the Media
Eye on the Media, debuted on Kukla’s Korner in February of 2008, and deals with all the evil, weird and just plain insane things that happen when hockey ventures into the foreign worlds of TV, Radio and News Print. I am a student, and a communications major, in New Jersey, which by association means you can blame me for destroying hockey. I love hockey and wants to hear everything you have to say about the way our game is covered.

Avs-Wings, Rangers-Pens Likely draw Even Ratings on NBC
by Steve on 04/28/08 at 01:12 PMComments (1)
The NHL On NBC drew a 1.0/2 for it’s Saturday telecast of Game 2 of the Colorado-Detroit series, and drew a 1.2/3 of the broadcast of Game 2 of the Rangers-Pittsburgh series, according to Sports Business Daily (reg. required). The numbers will likely draw even with comparable data from last season (i.e. an 0.8/2 for Sharks-Wings Game 2, and a 1.0/2 for Rangers/Sabres Game 2 last season).

by Steve on 04/06/08 at 10:29 AMComments (5)
From NBC Universal Media:
The Detroit Red Wings, trying to hold on to the top spot in the Western Conference, will host the Chicago Blackhawks, currently three points out of the West’s eighth and final playoff spot, in the NHL Sunday Game of the Week, 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC, the final game of the regular season. Mike “Doc” Emrick (play-by-play), Eddie Olczyk (analyst) and Pierre McGuire (inside-the-glass reporter) call the action. McGuire will pull double duty, hosting NBC’s studio show alongside analyst Mike Milbury on site at Joe Louis Arena. NBC’s NHL coverage is produced by Sam Flood, the son of a hockey coach and former captain of the Williams College hockey team.
Read on, and note that you can head to NHL.tv or NBCSports.com and view ISO cams of Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane for the entire game.
