I know Thanksgiving was last week, but Predators fans, let’s show some thanks for one of the best general managers in the NHL, Mr. David Poile:
| Player Salaries through 2011-12 | ||||
| 2008-9 | 2009-10 | 2010-11 | 2011-12 | |
| Sean Avery | $3,500,000 | $4,000,000 | $4,000,000 | $4,000,000 |
| J.P. Dumont | $4,000,000 | $4,000,000 | $4,000,000 | $4,000,000 |
One of these players has improved his Points-Per-Game every season since 2002-3, the other is now seen as a millstone around the neck of his team.

Furious February
The Preds host 10 home games during the month of February, including two games each against the Phoenix Coyotes, St. Louis Blues and, yes, the Detroit Red Wings. For discounted Nashville Predators tickets, including steeply discounted Ticketmaster fees, to these or any other upcoming home games, take advantage of this special offer, and use the special offer code "predators".

Dumont was a no-brainer, if he didn’t keep him, then the public sees it as not trying to improve and the season tickets base drops...Guy has been productive since his stay in Nashville, but not sure why the Avery comparison, perhaps look at Pierre-Marc Bouchard in Minnesota getting 4.5 per but not sure why they gave Legwand over 4 mill per....He’s not produced at all.
