The quick update prior to tonight’s Predators/Blues game in St. Louis is that Dan Ellis appears to be doing better, as he participated in the morning skate, but Pekka Rinne will still start tonight, per John Glennon at the Tennessean. Drew MacIntyre has been sent back to Milwaukee, and it turns out that he didn’t even get a chance to back up Rinne last weekend:
``It would have been awesome (to serve as Rinne’s back-up on Saturday),’’ MacIntyre said. ``But hey, what are you going to do?’’
Read Glennon’s blog to get all the details, which are mysteriously similar to when Rinne was called up last March to start in place of Ellis against the Blackhawks, but travel delays prevented him from arriving in time. Does Ellis have some pull with the airlines, or something? If I’m MacIntyre and I get another call from David Poile to come to Nashville, I’m thinking Greyhound instead.
