On the Forecheck

Nashville can’t be Wild about this…

Just hours before dropping the puck tonight against Minnesota, Nashville Predators goaltender Dan Ellis caught a puck on the knee in morning practice, and is out for at least tonight’s game.  The news comes via the Tennessean’s John Glennon:

Early indications are that the injury is just a bruise or contusion, but it left Ellis hobbling. [Backup goaltender Pekka] Rinne is now set to start and the Predators have recalled Drew MacIntyre from Milwaukee of the American Hockey League to back him up.

MacIntyre is 9-5-1 at Milwaukee, with a 2.77 goals against average and .909 save percentage.

Besides the MacIntyre callup, the Fab Forecheckers (of James Mirtle’s Blogger Invitational Fantasy Hockey League) have benched Ellis for the evening, in favor of playing both Tomas Vokoun and Craig Andersen for Florida.  You’re going down, Puck Daddy!
