Winds of change coming?

Last week’s demotion of Patric Hornqvist and Ryan Jones has left the Nashville Predators with only 12 forwards on the active roster, and it’s sounding more and more like this week is basically an audition for those current Preds to determine who is going to stick with the team, and who will be sent packing. From John Glennon at the Tennessean this morning:
“There are windows of opportunity for guys here to play more now, and play different roles,’’ Predators Coach Barry Trotz said. “They’ve got to take that opportunity. Some guys (on Friday) were not good with their opportunity. Some guys were decent.’’
Fans have been frustrated by the lack of consistency shown by both the players and coaches, and it sounds like sweeping change might be in the works. Antti Pihlstrom and Alexander Sulzer, for example, might earn call-ups from Milwaukee based on their strong starts with Nashville’s AHL affiiliate.
For a Carolina-based perspective on this afternoon’s tilt (2 p.m. Central) with the Hurricanes, take a stroll through Canes Country.

Legwand has been a classic underachiever during his entire career, except when he plays against Detroit.....Its a shame too because he has the talent to be a better player, because it shows when he gets his head in the right place and WANTS to play....

Furious February
The Preds host 10 home games during the month of February, including two games each against the Phoenix Coyotes, St. Louis Blues and, yes, the Detroit Red Wings. For discounted Nashville Predators tickets, including steeply discounted Ticketmaster fees, to these or any other upcoming home games, take advantage of this special offer, and use the special offer code "predators".

More evidence of moves comes from Trotz’s other quote from Friday night (courtesy of McCann’s blog):
Good to see that kind of scrutiny being leveled. I just hope that Legwand and Hamnuis aren’t too well paid to garner the same scrutiny that i know Fiddler, Koistinen, and others are getting.
