Game One, Take Two

What a great Saturday we have on tap; it’s the weekend, the Predators start their regular season with a home game against the Dallas Stars, it should be a great time. It’s funny, actually; I had the strangest dream last night that the Preds actually began the season in St. Louis, of all places, and got hammered 5-2. It was more of a nightmare, really; all game long the Preds struggled in the defensive zone, with all eyes on the puck carrier and St. Louis shooters cutting in constantly for wide open shots. It was like the Preds were a bad beer league team that couldn’t wait to head out for drinks afterward.

Now, I should add that it wasn’t a completely awful dream; Ryan Suter scored a nifty goal to get things going, Joel Ward, Nashville’s “October Surprise”, potted his first NHL tally, and I got to watch the game from a personal luxury box with Carrie Milbank and Alyssa Milano tending to my every need.

Hey, it’s my dream, OK?
