Prediction: East Conference

As the final entry in my pre-season preview, I will look at the predicted standings in the East Conference.  My West Conference predictions are here.  The Northeast Division is here, the Atlantic Division is here and the Southest Division is here

Here is my predicted standings for the East Conference:

1. Washington Capitals
2. Pittsburgh Penguins
3. Boston Bruins
4. New Jersey Devils
5. Montreal Canadiens
6. Philadelphia Flyers
7. Carolina Hurricanes
8. Buffalo Sabres

9. New York Rangers
10. Florida Panthers
11. Tampa Bay Lightning
12. Ottawa Senators
13. Toronto Maple Leafs
14. Atlanta Thrashers

Hate to comment on somebody else’s opinion and tell them where I think they’re wrong but I can say with a straight face that Buffalo and probably Montreal (maybe carolina) won’t make the playoffs this year.  So take those 2-3 teams out and mix up the standings and that’ll be pretty much my prediction.  I expect some Southeastern representation with those teams.  The rangers might squeak in but they are severely underpowered for a playoff run.

dude, why didn’t you just put up ONE “predictions” post for the whole league and be done with it?  too hard to find something to write about for all the rest of the days you used up this way?  sheesh.
