On Wednesday at the Rock, Cam Ward will get his first start since suffering a cut on his knee in Columbus on November 7. Michael Leighton cleared waivers yesterday, and no decision has been made about the goaltending situation. As a result, Carolina has three goalies on the roster tonight. Manny is the backup.
Also, after being a healthy scratch on Monday, Carolina’s captain Rod Brind’Amour is back in the lineup tonight. According to reports, this will be a day-to-day thing and there’s no plan to strip Brind’Amour of his captaincy.
Martin Brodeur will have a chance to set the record for shutouts in a career.
As usual, I will recommend a visit to the always entertaining Interchangeable Parts Blog for a Devils-centric liveblog. I’ll post up after the game.
