Newly acquired forward Jussi Jokinen, who is no relation to Olli “Cane Killa” Jokinen will be out of commission for a while. His father passed away and he will return to his native Finland for a week.
Since joining the Canes, Jokinen has played in 11 games, gathering five (1/4) points and also scored the unofficial game-winning shootout goal against Buffalo last Thursday.
Dwight Helminen has been recalled from Albany, which comes as a surprise. Brandon Sutter was supposed to be recalled for the Atlanta game, but his flight (and recall) was canceled.
Best wishes to the Jokinen family.
