The Carolina Hurricanes have fielded a team at the 2010 Quebec International Peewee Hockey Tournament. The team of players from the Raleigh area aged 11 and 12 won their first game 2-0 against the Anaheim Junior Ducks.
The goaltender for the Junior Canes is Matthew Forslund, who is the son of Canes TV play-by-play man John Forslund.
They have advanced to the round of 12, where they will play a team from Slovenia on Wednesday.
