Jared Staal, the youngest of the four brothers, signed a contract with Carolina this summer, and he’s in Raleigh for the prospects’ conditioning camp this week. Eric is back in Thunder Bay, and is not allowing his baby brother to stay in the house. That’s rough.

Rough, or tough love? Sounds to me like a message of “You need to make it here yourself, and not ride my coattails”. Neither of them need the distraction of gossip about how Jared made it if they end up in the same city at the NHL level.
