RBH, Canes renew allegiance

After a couple of months when negotiations were “touchy” at best, the Carolina Hurricanes and RBH have finally renewed their affiliation. Per blog policy, terms of the agreement have not been released. However, a source close to the matter has indicated that the staff of RBH, who have been season ticket holders with the Hurricanes in some way shape or form since 2002, have agreed to a one year extension with an additional two year option following the 2009-10 season.
During the free agency period, other teams came calling for the allegiance of RBH, but no team made an offer that RBH considered to be “worthwhile”.
An RBH insider, who chose to remain anonymous, named the defending Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins, the Montréal Canadiens and the Buffalo Sabres as the most serious contenders. “At the end of the day”, the anonymous source said, “it’s just not feasible for (us) to drive to Buffalo, or to Pittsburgh, or to Montréal 41 times a season. Twenty, or even ten would be asking way too much. For that matter, it would be asking a lot for us to attend even two home games. For a lot of reasons, not the least of which is convenience, we have chosen to renew our allegiance with the Carolina Hurricanes.”
