Round two picks

It’s time to make the picks for the second round matchups. In the first round, I correctly picked seven of the eight matchups, only missing the Ducks ousting of the top seeded Sharks. In addition to getting all but one winner correct, I nailed “Carolina in seven” and “Hawks in six”.
As is my tradition, I’ll compare my picks to those of Maggie the Monkey, who will be retiring after these playoffs. She had a really awful first round, only getting two picks (Boston and Vancouver) correct.
Also, in my goofy series of “if this was indie rock” posts, I got just four of the eight series right. Based purely on which indie rock bands I like better.
So, looking in my crystal ball…
I’m already a day late with this, so I just need to get this picks out. Once again, this will be no frills, no bells and whistles. Just the picks. Hopefully when I have time, I’ll revisit this post and explain myself, but the reality of it is that I probably won’t. So without further ado:
EASTERN CONFERENCE
BOSTON over Carolina in six games
PITTSBURGH over Washington in five games
WESTERN CONFERENCE
DETROIT over Anaheim in five games
CHICAGO over Vancouver in six games.
Yes, I know. I picked my own team to lose. Of course I want them to win. I just don’t think they can.

There is something slightly strange about the timing of this post in that it is the morning after game one of Vancouver and Chicago.

so I’m being accused of cheating by picking the team who is down one game to none? How’s that work?
I meant to post it on Wednesday, or Thursday afternoon at the latest, but due to poor planning and heavy drinking, I didn’t get the second round picks up in time. Sorry.
