From pressconnects.com,
In the third - and as it turns out, final - start of his two-week conditioning stint, Gerber stopped all 32 shots he faced, helping the Binghamton Senators to a key 3-0 victory over the visiting Philadelphia Phantoms in a showdown for fourth place in the American Hockey League’s East Division.
Afterward, Ottawa assistant general manager Tim Murray said Gerber will return to Ottawa and will be placed on waivers today. If he clears the 24-hour waiver period without being claimed by another team, Murray said Gerber will sit down with Ottawa management to discuss his options, which could include a return to the B-Sens.
“Let’s worry about that when we get there,” Murray said of the possibility of Gerber rejoining the B-Sens, for whom he posted a 2-1-0 record with a 2.37 goals-against average and .935 save percentage over the last week.
“There’s so many different things that could happen. And that’s a very good possibility, obviously. Europe’s a possibility also. So, I think we just cross that bridge when we get there.”
Considering that cheaper goalies have ridden the waiver wire unclaimed, it would be a surprise to see Gerber suiting up for another NHL team. All the best to you, Martin.
