As exciting as the trade deadline is for its instant feedback, good or bad, the next week is the full spread for hockey fans, combining an exciting look forward to the stars and steals of the future at the NHL Draft, followed by the tune-ups and overhauls of free agency.
Starting on Thursday, I will be in Montreal, covering the Draft for KK. Ever wonder what it’s like? It will be my first time as well. Curious who’s talking and who’s listening? Wonder how the polish of the first-rounders compare to the different but equally tense reactions of the guys wondering when and if they will be called? I’ll be your eyes and ears as best I can, so feel free to let me know in the comments what you are curious about; I’ll have plenty of time to catch up when my eleven hour bus trip starts Wednesday morning.

Hey, what’s the deal, Paul. Is the KK corporate jet in the shop?

Ooops. I just saw this was a SensHobo post and not one from Paul. It’s a bummer Paul wouldn’t let you use the KK corporate jet, Andrew.

No, I had other committments last year, regrettably missing my hometown draft.
I’ll call my bus trip paying my dues as a blogger. I know that my transit time will once again be the longest of any North American attendee, and even some European ones. Besides, the KK jet cannot fit on the Waterloo airport runway

Have fun, Hobo! Take in the Montreal nightlife and tell us if you’ve survived.
