Capitals claim Bourque off waivers from Penguins

ARLINGTON, Va., – The Washington Capitals have claimed forward Chris Bourque off waivers from the Pittsburgh Penguins and assigned him to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.

Bourque returns to the Washington organization after recording three assists in 20 games this season for the Penguins, who claimed the 23-year-old off waivers from the Capitals on Sept. 30. 

The 5’10”, 177-pound native of Boston, Mass., was the Capitals’ second-round choice, 33rd overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft and has scored one goal in 12 career games with Washington. He has played four seasons with the Bears and helped Hershey win the Calder Cup in 2006 and 2009. Last year, he recorded 21 goals and 52 assists in 69 games to finish third in the Hershey scoring race with 73 points. Bourque tallied five goals and 16 assists in 22 playoff games, as Hershey won their AHL record 10th Calder Cup.

Ouch, I thought a player claimed off waivers had to be put on waivers again to be sent down to the AHL?

I know this has absolutely nothing to do with Bourque, but this is Tony’s most recent post, so here it is…

Duncan Keith is a bitch. Cooke throws a clean hit on him at one of the ice, so what does he do for payback? He waits to Cooke is standing, back towards him, and takes a 20 foot run at him and cracks Cooke in the head. What an absolute bitch of a move. You don’t like how Cooke hit you? Than grow a pair and confront him, don’t hit him blindly in the head like a little puss.

Next time I’ll proofread lol.

“on him at one of the ice” is supposed to say “on him at one END of the ice”

and “He waits to Cooke” is supposed to say “he wants TILL cooke”
