Crosby is Pens’ captain, and Guerin is his staff sergeant

From USA Today’s Kevin Allen:
When I asked Sidney Crosby whether on July 1 he had been confident that Bill Guerin would return to be his linemate, he said: “I was optimistic, but I tried not to get my hopes high.”
We both started to laugh, each of us amused by the memory that Crosby had also been optimistic that Marian Hossa was coming back to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the summer of 2008. Instead, Hossa scooted off to Detroit.
But Guerin. 38, was always less of a flight risk than Hossa. The only question was whether Guerin was willing to take less money and not demand a two-year deal. “I thought he realized the impact he had on this team and the impact he had on this team,” Crosby said.

Yes, I understand you want to purge it from your memory.

You don’t know the half of it, my friend. Worst sports weekend for me EVER. Of course, Friday was game 7, which was obviously devastating, needless to say. But then on Saturday I drove out to Brooklyn, MI for my annual camp out at MIS with my buds. I was drinking my sorrows away and watching my boy, Jimmie Johnson dominate the entire race on Sunday. Just when it looked like there was something good I could take away from that weekend, Jimme takes the white flag in the lead and promptly RUNS OUT OF GAS down in turn one of the last lap. It was like someone reached right into my chest and pulled my @#$%ing heart out…TWICE in one weekend. Sadly, that weekend will live with in infamy for all time.
Oh and Jimmie did the exact same thing (3 laps to go this time) in the August race at MIS, but fortunately, I wasn’t in attendance on the count of my sis’s wedding in Traverse City.

“I thought he realized the impact he had on this team and the impact he had on this team,” Crosby said.
So, just to be clear. Did Guerin realize the impact he had on the team or the impact he had on the team? ![]()
“For me personally, he’s great because I’m a young captain,” Crosby said. “We’ve won the Stanley Cup, but I’m still learning.”
Like where the handshake line is?
Sorry. Just couldn’t resist. But that’s the end of that and, as it was a year ago right now, it’s also the end of basking in the glow of skating around with the Cup. It’s a new year and both the Pens and Wings have an uphill battle ahead of them to get back to the Finals next spring. Let the real games begin.

Amen OTC, there’s nothing as painful as preseason football, other than preseason hockey….

I never said it was a joke. I said I couldn’t resist. Someday you really should learn how to read, Linda. We’d all stand by for that but no one wants to wait forever.

I never said - you said it was a joke . I was imagining you saying as a joke. Now who’s having problems with the alphabet? Samantics? Maybe , but I couldn’t resist.
Besides all that I thought you said: But that’s the end of that…
I really think you like this back and forth. Admit it, kinda hah?
Anotherthing Cheli, why must you constantly make fun of my grammer skills or lack there of. I’m going to get a complex from all your elitist bullying. You should critique not criticize.

Who can argue with nonsense like that? You, Linda, are the mistress of complete idiocity.
why must you constantly make fun of my grammer skills or lack there of.
You mean Why would I point to your lack of grammar skills or lack thereof? Oh, I don’t know, Linda. Maybe it’s because you constantly present yourself as an authority on any subject being discussed. Every time you do that, you’re going to get “called out” by someone here at KK. Maybe you should just confine your posts to places like http://www.thepensblog.blogspot.com. Over there, they think silly posts like yours are like, well, you know, the!!!11best!!11!!.
