Lookout Willis Reed....
Banged-up defenseman Sergei Gonchar practiced with the team this morning.
While it’s still unknown whether Gonchar will dress in tomorrow night’s Game Seven, Stan Savran stated on ESPN Radio 1250 this morning that Gonchar was seen last night in the locker room with no brace and no noticeable limp, just a discolored knee.

So in other words, Pittsburgh was lying about the severity of the injury to try to get Ovechkin suspended? I’m shocked that a team with such leadership would try such a stunt.

Did you see Crosby’s helmet came off after a check and everyone booed when there wasn’t a call? Yeah… he flung his head back with such exaggeration that his helmet popped off.

Disregard my last comment, I was obviously on drugs and didn’t perceive reality correctly at that time.

Pittsburgh never said anything about how long he’d be out other then “day by day” and “gametime decision.”
It was the media that somehow found this 2-3 weeks idea.
Imagine that, the media exaggerating something, or, oh my, making something up!
No, they would never do that.

About The Confluence
Welcome to The Confluence, a Pittsburgh Penguins blog since 2006. Originally at Blogspot, then at MVN, The Confluence has over 1000 articles reporting Penguins news as well as jumping on my soapbox to opine constructive Penguins criticism. My posts are regularly linked by hockey websites such as the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Empty Netters and Yahoo!’s Puck Daddy, and I’ve done guest blogger spots on such websites as the New York Times. I invite you to spend a little time and peruse the archives at all of the sites for some of my better work. I am a retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer, but don’t confuse me with my fellow Chief at A2Y.
