“Penguin Nation” Invades Nationwide Arena

From PittsburghPenguins.com’s Jason Seidling:
Through the first 13 games of the regular season the Pittsburgh Penguins are racking up victories at a historic level. Perhaps even more impressive is how they have continued to increase fan support, as evidenced by the Pittsburgh takeover of Nationwide Arena during the Penguins’ 4-3 shootout victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets Friday night.
“Penguin Nation” invaded the Blue Jackets’ home rink with a vengeance, providing an atmosphere that was almost “college-like”, especially during the game’s exciting conclusion the last three minutes of regulation through the Penguins’ 1-0 advantage in the shootout.
“I think this might have been the most electric crowd of the season,” head coach Dan Bylsma said after. “Right from warmups our fans were screaming and yelling. “We had a lot of Pittsburgh fans here so it was entertaining and it was a great energy in the building … it was good to see.”

it hurts doesn’t it? knowing your team has major problems that can’t be fixed. knowing that this past final was probably the last shot your team had. now with everyone getting injured too? yep, just easier to rag on other fan bases. honestly, your argument bores me. we all know detroit has no bandwagon fans in any sport right? certainly not the tigers.

Yeah. Leafs Nation. That’s where the Penguins got it. They certainly couldn’t have gotten it from another (championship winning) team from Pittsburgh with a huge, nation-wide following…like, Steeler Nation. There’s no freakin’ way they could’ve gotten it from there.
You really shouldn’t post on things you have no idea about. You just make yourself look very, very uninformed, bitter and just plain old dumb. You’d be better off sticking to discussions about raising Osgood’s number to the rafters @ the Joe. Ha.
You are good for a laugh, though your routine is getting pretty old.

Can we rename it “Bankrupt Nation” once the Pens start losing again?

poor red winger, i guess he’s tired of sitting at the table with the geeks in the corner of the cafeteria complaining about how the cool kids and athletes never talk to them, or maybe reminiscing about the good ol days when his favorite hockey team was a mere shadow of itself, and quickly becoming one of the worst teams in league regardless of who they have on their managment. That’s why you’ll see red winger posting comments on every article that even mentions the Penguins, or gives him an opportunity to bring them up. How many more tuesdays is it now? hahahaha

You come into a Pens’ blog post and deride its fanbase and not expect someone to call you out on it? I know KK.com is like a big circlejerk for Wings fans, but did you really expect NO ONE to call you out?
Anyway, good to see the Pens’ fans travel well.

what’s going to happen when the wings lose for a few years? everything is cyclical. people who say pittsburgh is a hockey town now, i tell them we will see when the pens get bad again. if the sellouts still come, then you can definitely say it is. but what about detroit? they haven’t been a bad team in over two decades. what will happen when they do lose and actually have to rebuild? im gonna guess the ‘hockeytown’ stands will be just as empty as any other american city.

Red Wings fans are so friggin jealous of the Penguins and all the attention they get nowadays. So of course, this retard has to come on here and troll the Pens’ blog instead of counting back all the Cupless Tuesdays left in Detroit as the Wings continue to lose in free agency, players through injury, and on the ice.
What a joke you are, Red Winger. Just like The Chief. You’re all big silly jokes.

Pretty sure “Bankrupt Nation” would be faaaaaaar more suited for Detroit.
But, please, by all means continue to cry about losing to a “good” team with a “mediocre” goalie and Gary Bettman’s love of “Rosby” (doesn’t deserve the C…so cute) and the salary cap, while us Penguins fans continue to be thankful for Mario Lemieux and what he’s done for our franchise and watch our Captain lead our team onto the successes (I hope, at least) you have enjoyed for the past 14 years.
And, yeah, if you don’t want us mean ol’ Penguins fans picking on you…you might want to stay out of a Penguins’ blog. Just sayin’.

“Penguin Nation”
Geez, so original…not like “Leafs Nation” at all.
And, hey, if bandwagon support warms the cockles inside, who’s to complain?
