Yeah, I think an early goal or two could be all she wrote…
But then again, the Flyers have not played bad hockey at all this series, the Pens can’t afford to be on their heels tomorrow..

I really think the Flyers have been the better team in this series. They got screwed in game 2 big time. Last night Fleury had his once a season great game….As a Bruins fan I would rather face Pittsburgh than Philly right now so come on Pens!!!

Wait, since when isn’t Fleury part of the team?
Better team includes the goalie, and that’d be the Pens.
Flyers aren’t getting enough scoring from their scoring players, while the Pens are getting scoring from the top 3 lines, and the 4th is reaking havoc while playing well defensively.
So how are the Flyers the better team?

Hmmm, be careful what you wish for there Kevin….
I seem to recall on Mar. 15th the Pens beating the Bruins 6-4, and GARON was in net….
Kunitz with two goals, Guerin with a goal…. You know, the guys that the Pens didn’t have when the Bruins took 2 of 3 from them earlier in the year….
Overall, I’d agree the Bruins would be favored, but let’s not get carried away….

Well the Pens did have a horrible coach the last time the B’s played them but I think the Bruins won back to back games from the Pens at New Year’s and lost a shoot out game in October which I really don’t consider a loss since there’s no shootouts in the playoffs. In the game you are talking about I think the Pens had a couple 2 man advantage PPs ala game 2 vs Philly…if that is the way the refs are going to call games in Pittsburgh then yes the Pens will win…All in all the Bruins have a better goalie, a better group of Dmen and a deeper group of forwards. Malkin will have to dominate if the Pens are to win I think

Oh come on Kevin, are you originally from Philly or something ?? Already with the damn refs ?? Be better than that….
We’re gonna have to put this discussion on hold, both teams still have to win five more games before that comes to fruition….

Sorry…. but a 2 man advantage in OT during the playoffs is a joke…...If the Bruins, Pens, NJ and Wash win it will be Boston/Pitt next round. However, I will admit I would rather play the Rangers or Carolina before Pittsburgh…. so there is a pretty good chance Bos/Pit won’t meet in the next round

You mean a 2-man advantage after two perfectly legitimate (and stupid) penalties, right ??

Tony, you’re wasting your breathe with the refs…i think as Penguin fans, we just have to realize that people are going to want to put an asterix on anything the team works hard for…
I almost expect these arguments from people now, and just chalk it up to them being more of a parrot than anything else, if they repeat what they hear other people say, soon enough they’ll believe it. Same with Sid diving, and whining…those arguments have no basis now but still doesn’t stop them from being brought up.
Keep up the good fight though! And if we’re lucky, maybe we’ll see a Bruins Pens East final, that would be a great series…

Tony- a 2 man advantage after the Flyers had been given a powerplay of their own for a call equal to the Knuble call. Those calls were at least subjective. The Giroux call was like shooter holding a smoking gun after a murder, then saying “Who, me?”. The Flyers would have gladly accepted that penalty had it been on the Pens. Its a black and white call.

Hopefully it’ll get the players pumped for the game. Winning this physical series as soon as possible is extremely important since every extra 60 minutes of hockey played against the Goon Squad drains them for the rest of the playoffs. Not to mention the fact that its the Flyers we’re playing, “Intent to injure” is their mantra.
