Last night’s Game Seven between the Penguins and Capitals registered a 24.97 rating on FSN Pittsburgh, according to Nielsen Media Research, marking the third straight game that the station broke it’s own record.
Game 5 drew a rating of 21.2, while Game 6 drew a 24.2.
Those three games were the highest-rated events ever carried by the local network and were the most viewed hockey games ever on any FSN regional sports network throughout the country.

Until a few years ago, so was Boston.

Don’t compare the Pittsburgh sports scene to Boston’s (ie Patriots/Celtics/Red Sox/Bruins)....you will only look foolish

Well, I suppose my town would also have high interest if Bettman spent countless sums of money and effort pushing my team’s star player over half a decade, including commercials aimed to deceive the viewer into thinking the Penguins won the cup
The knowledge that my team would be given roughly a dozen more powerplays than any other team in the playoffs, and a 4 minute minor assigned to anyone that hit said star when he decides to put his leg up in the air in pain like a cockroach and still be on for the next shift.

What a bunch of whiny, childish horse crap that is....
Do everyone a favor, take a step back, and then give your best shot to make a mature statement, rather than that B.S. stuff you’re spewing....

He’s right though, don’t compare Pittsburgh to Boston. Boston has over 2 million more people than Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh still gets those ratings.
It’s impressive dude, why don’t you just quit the hate for 10 minutes and admit it.

Kevin, MMarkK and all you other whining piles of garbage out there—just drink a gallon a bleach now and do the world a favor.

Given 12 powerplays, yeah right. The penguins had the puck the whole series. If the Capitals wern’t chasing them then maybe they would’ve drew a few more penalties themselves. Now comes the excuses. Penelties , Injuries blah blah blah. The entry was about rating so stop crying and just give it up to the people in and around Pitt for doing a reat job of supporting their NHL team. GOOD JOD PITT!!

When you are a one winter sport town you can get these kind of numbers. With no basketball and the useless Pirates the Pens have ZERO competition from Feb 1st until August 1st.....
