- Hal Gill practiced with the team Wednesday. Unknown at this time whether he will return to action on Thursday.
- Former Tampa Bay GM Jay Feaster was a guest on NHL Live on Wednesday and stated that the Penguins and Thrashers were discussing a “major trade”. That pretty much narrows it down, Kovalchuk and Staal plus various other pieces. Whatever, someone wake me when it’s official.

I will never profess to be an “insider”, however personally, I enjoy reading rumors, especially as we get closer to the deadline. So while I doubt you’ll ever see me say “according to one of my sources” (‘cause I don’t have any), I will simply report the existence of rumors involving the Penguins.
