Hey, it’s another opportunity for HCMT to play Janne Pesonen for six minutes a game !!! Don’t know yet if this will be a replacement for Crosby or Talbot, or neither.

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS RECALL JANNE PESONEN FROM WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON PENGUINS
The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Janne Pesonen from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Ray Shero. Pesonen, 26, leads the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins with 27 assists and ranks third with 40 points (13 goals, 27 assists) in 34 games. He has played six games in three stints with Pittsburgh this season, making his NHL debut in St. Louis on November 1. Pesonen scored two points in three preseason appearances with Pittsburgh. The 5-11, 180-pound forward led the Finnish Elite League last season, recording 78 points (34 goals, 44 assists) in 56 games with the Oulu Karpat. He contributed 16 points (seven goals, nine assists) during the postseason, helping lead Karpat to its fifth league championship. The native of Suomussalmi, Finland was originally drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the ninth round (269th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Pesonen signed with the Penguins as a free agent July 7, 2008.

About The Confluence
Welcome to The Confluence, a Pittsburgh Penguins blog since 2006. Originally at Blogspot, then at MVN, The Confluence has over 1000 articles reporting Penguins news as well as jumping on my soapbox to opine constructive Penguins criticism. My posts are regularly linked by hockey websites such as the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Empty Netters and Yahoo!’s Puck Daddy, and I’ve done guest blogger spots on such websites as the New York Times. I invite you to spend a little time and peruse the archives at all of the sites for some of my better work. I am a retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer, but don’t confuse me with my fellow Chief at A2Y.
