Penguins recall Satan for playoff run

I’m assuming this means he cleared re-entry waivers.  Gonna be interesting how much playing time Satan ends up getting.

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS RECALL MIROSLAV SATAN FROM WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON PENGUINS

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Miroslav Satan from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Ray Shero.

Satan, 34, has appeared in 10 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, tallying nine points (three goals, six assists) and a plus-one rating.  Satan played in 65 games with the Pittsburgh this season, registering 36 points (17 goals, 19 assists) along with 36 penalty minutes.  He ranked fifth on the Penguins with 17 goals and 19 assists prior to being re-assigned.  Satan played his 1000th career game in the NHL February 4 versus Tampa Bay.  The 6-1, 195 pound winger scored 41 points (16 goals, 25 assists) in 80 games with the New York Islanders last season.  Satan has played parts of 13 seasons with the Edmonton Oilers, Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins. He has appeared in 1012 career games in the NHL, tallying 721 points (354 goals, 367 assists) along with 452 penalty minutes.  He has collected 38 points (15 goals, 23 assists) in 56 playoff contests in the NHL.  Satan has scored at least 25 goals in nine of his past 12 seasons.  The native of Topolcany, Slovakia was originally selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the fifth round (111th overall) of the 1993 Entry Draft.  He signed with Pittsburgh as a free agent July 3, 2008.

Hard to imagine him getting any PT, Tony.  Probably an insurance policy in case someone gets hurt, as there are no cap issues once the playoffs start.

I would tend to agree if things stay status quo, but things happen…
