If you have to have it explained, then you don’t deserve to know.
(I wasn’t talking about your actual children, if that helps)

I appreciate the heads up Animal, I really do…
But what’s gonna happen ?? Are the fans gonna revolt after they show Game 7 highlights on the Jumbotron ??
I’d just like to pass onto my peeps what they’re in for.....

And why would you think they’d show game 7 highlights at the Joe? Did they show game 6 of 2008 on the big screen at the Igloo last year? If they did, my condolences.
And c’mon Tony, no one says “peeps” anymore. Unless you mean those little soft candy birds you get in Easter baskets...hmmm that might actually fit…

LOL, actually, I think they did at the Igloo…
Sheesh, and I thought I was still hip… You’re not telling me it’s not 1984 anymore, are you ??

Well seeing as how I (presently) work for ACDelco I can tell you that Big Brother is still watching...easy on the Government Motors cracks, please.

I’m more worried about the double-header with newfound goonery in Toronto. After all, the goons in Detroit are season ticket holders and not on the ice.
Just a friendly jab.

That’s just Swedish envy from the SECOND most visited country in Scandenavia...JEG misfornøjelse jer. (pardon the rough translation)

The translation back to English would be something like “I displeasure you”. Should it have been “I pity you”?
Either way, there’s certainly a Swedish component. Therefore I would pick Yzerman as a greater player than Sakic because he had to endure that many Swedes. At least I think he wins the “Number of Swedes during career” category, though Forsberg may count for more than one (he’s a smug bastard).
And just to be clear, Denmark is nicer and populated by nicer people (on average).

I tried going for “I dislike you.” But free on-line translation: you get what you pay for. How could I pity you? You’re a Pen(i)s fan who lives in the least corrupt country on the planet. Much like Tony F, I may not like a lot of the things you say, but you’re knowledgeable and courteous enough for me to respect your opinions.
I’ll let you know what I think of the Swedes when I get back from Stockholm in a little less than 3 months. Did you feeling like slumming last year when your Pen(i)s were on the same continent?

Welcome to The Confluence, a Pittsburgh Penguins blog since 2006. Originally at Blogspot, then at MVN, The Confluence has over 1000 articles reporting Penguins news as well as jumping on my soapbox to opine constructive Penguins criticism. My posts are regularly linked by hockey websites such as the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Empty Netters and Yahoo!’s Puck Daddy, and I’ve done guest blogger spots on such websites as the New York Times. I invite you to spend a little time and peruse the archives at all of the sites for some of my better work. I am a retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer, but don’t confuse me with my fellow Chief at A2Y.
