Report:  Penguins place Chris Bourque on waivers

In a move that’s sure to cause a parade in the Pensblog section of Pittsburgh, per TSN’s Bob McKenzie’s twitter, the Penguins have placed struggling forward Chris Bourque on waivers.

good to see. they gave him a fair shot and played him in a number of positions. i would have sent him packign that time he missed a wide open net from 2 feet out. he’s undersized and cant stay on his feet. might be a great AHL scorer but will probably never cut it in the NHL.

Bourque hasn’t really sieged the opportunity. I wonder if Washington takes him back.

Why do you give those idiots at the Pensblog any press?

Personally i find the Pensblog hilarious and a nice mix of hockey and humor. I wish there were more sites like it, especially for other teams. I think i would read them all

We at Hershey would be glad to have Bourquee back He is a great player small or not. He has added a lot to our two Calder Cup championsips and I am sure if Washington gets him back he could be a great competitor for them too but if that is not to be then he could play for Hershey anytime and be more appreciated then you jerks in Pittsburgh give him credit for

I have to concur, his criticism has been pretty harsh….

Having said that, I’m glad you think he’d be a good fit again in Hershey, ‘cause that might be the highest he makes it in pro hockey…

Maybe it was that he just had a long streak of bad luck, who knows…. I don’t think his hands are very good, not especially well along the boards, and not especially fast….

We’ll see what happens, if anyone claims him…..

I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen him knocked either A. off the puck or B. on his ass along the boards.  You need to be able to dig that puck out if you’re gonna play in the NHL.

bourque was like satan but couldnt score.  aka, i might as well have played for bourque.  he had a huge opportunity with Talbot and TK out of the lineup and looked like he should’ve been playing with the little kids during intermission.  he was horrible on the boards, horrible on offense, horrible on defense, horrible at tying his skates.  it was so obvious that he came from the caps system because all he did was figure skate, fall down, and never back check.

Chris drove 3 hours from Pittsburgh to Hershey yeasterday, laced on his skates, and had a 3 point game, including the game winning goal.  He also had the first goal of the game where 6,000 teddy bears rained down from the fans for the club’s annual teddy bear toss.  Hell of a homecoming.  Isn’t it amazing what a guy can do when he has the support of the fans behind him?
