Stationary Penguins fall to Kings, 5-2

I read prior to the Penguins/Kings matchup last night on how the Kings are being compared to the ‘06-’07 Penguins. Those Pens made the playoffs for the first time in a long while were ousted in five games by Ottawa.
Now that the game is over, and the Kings soundly defeated the Penguins 5-2, I’d say those comparisons are pretty damn accurate.
The one statement I took from this game: The Kings are legit.

So much for a trap game, or perhaps looking forward towards Sunday’s big matchup with Philadelphia.
Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin both had a goal and an assist, and the Penguins earned points in their 12th consecutive game after a 4-1 win over the Kings tonight at the Igloo.
Bill Guerin and Tyler Kennedy added goals for the Pens, who are now 12-1-3 under IHCDB.

UPDATE 9:40 ET: Add the Denver Post onto this chain.
Well, it is getting close to that time, isn’t it.
TheFourthPeriod.com reports that the Colorado Avalanche may be close to a multi-player trade, with the Bruins and Penguins rumored as possible trading partners.
TFP mentions that the Pens are interested in winger Milan Hejduk and may be willing to part with either Ryan Whitney or Jordan Staal as part of the deal.
Now, if that’s not enough, we also have a very unconfirmed, but very interesting and possibly very related post on one of the main Penguins message boards tonight.
