I am here to update you on all the news involving the NHL's Media and Advertising goings-on. "Eye on the Media" began at KK in January of 2008, but I have been an occasional contributor to KK since January of 2007. I'm also from New Jersey, thus destroying KK's West Coast bias.

That’s essentially correct.  That “In Pasha” thing is a Russian possessive construction--it basically translates to “Pasha [diminutive of Pavel] has a broken finger.  We wanted to save him for the game against Canada.” There’s no other mention of Datsyuk in the article, so I couldn’t tell you what happened.

Also of note: When asked to compare tomorrow’s game to the spirit of the old Soviet-Canada games, Krikunov notes that it always matters when the two countries meet, but wishes it didn’t come so early in the playoffs this time around.

(BTW, I’m only in 2nd-year Russian.  I could have missed something.)

Hmm, a broken finger, eh?

Maybe it was his turn with Anna K.?

Hayley Wickenheiser played with a broken wrist for most of the Olympics.  Somehow, I think widdle Pasha can handle a broken finger.

Krikunov is stupid to say it loud.

The translation is “the Wings are doomed” if Dats has a broken finger.

Feh.  Doesn’t look like Datsyuk played anyway.

Actually, it seems he did, but I sure didn’t hear much from him.
