Chicago Recalls James Wisniewski

The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled defenseman James Wisniewski (6-0, 207) from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs and have activated him from Injured Reserve.

Wisniewski, 24, who was on a long-term injury exception conditioning loan, appeared in two games with Rockford, which includes recording professional career highs with three goals and four points in the squad’s 7-2 win over the Chicago Wolves last Saturday.

The Canton, Michigan, native has not appeared in any games with the Blackhawks this season while recovering from a knee injury sustained during the offseason.  Last season, he led Blackhawks defensemen and ranked second overall on the squad with a career-high 103 penalty minutes, while registering career bests with seven goals, 19 assists and 26 points in 68 matchups
