Danny Syvret Signs With Ducks

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed defenseman Danny Syvret to a one-year contract through the 2010-11 NHL season. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.

Syvret, 25 (6/13/85), appeared in 21 games for the Philadelphia Flyers last season, earning 2-2=4 points with a +1 rating and 12 penalty minutes (PIM). Syvret’s first career NHL goal was the opening tally of the 2010 Bridgestone Winter Classic on Jan. 1 at Fenway Park, a 2-1 Flyers loss to the Boston Bruins. Syvret scored his second career goal two games later in a 6-2 win over Toronto on Jan. 6 at Wachovia Center. The 5-11, 203-pound defenseman spent the remainder of the season with Philadelphia’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate in Adirondack, picking up 5-8=13 points with six PIM in 15 games.
