Oilers Recall Brule

General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have recalled centre Gilbert Brule from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League.
This will be Brule’s second recall to the Oilers this season. The 5’10”, 180 pound native of Edmonton, Alberta was first recalled to Edmonton on December 5th and made his Oilers debut in a 3-2 overtime win at San Jose on December 6th. He is scoreless and even in two games with Edmonton this season.

I remember watching Brule in Quesnel when he played for the Quesnel Millionaires of the BC Hockey League. I think he played for them starting when he was like 14. He was dominant. You knew he would make the big show.
He sure has struggled making the leap though. Couple of bad injuries…. He was taken 2nd only to Crosby… Crosby is on a level of his own obviously (and full of wine) but I expected more out of Brule.
