Sens Recall Matt Carkner

OTTAWA – The Ottawa Senators today recalled defenceman Matt Carkner from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.
Carkner, 28, has scored one goal and added 10 assists while recording 70 penalty minutes in 24 games this season with Binghamton. The native of Winchester, Ont., is in his second season with the B-Sens, after recording 10 goals, 15 assists and 218 penalty minutes in 67 AHL games in 2007-08.
He has played in one career National Hockey League game, recording an assist and two penalty minutes for the San Jose Sharks in a 4-3 home loss to the Calgary Flames on Feb. 6, 2006.
